Galaxy Ryan Myles [break] PERSONALITY [break] Galaxy is a pacifist. Not just a "war is bad" pacifist, a "would not protect themself if attacked" pacifist. They're also the sort of person who attempts to help even when the other person doesn't need it, or their attempt to help would actually make things worse. They're very compassionate, and they try their best to understand other people's feelings, despite being really bad at it. They don't like morbid, blue, or slapstick comedy (basically anything that makes fun of people or Crosses A Line), but they love really bad puns.[break]Galaxy doesn't feel guilty about anything they're interested in unless someone makes them feel guilty about it. They're an optimist in the worst of times, which can sometimes make people want to strangle them (just a little). They're really open about their emotions and have a short attention span. They really try not to judge people on negative first impressions, or second impressions, or third impressions, and so on, which can lead to them being walked over. Unless someone's seriously hurt somebody else, they're usually willing to forgive (but not forget). [break][break] APPEARANCE [break] Galaxy's hair is dyed purple and cut in a bob like this. (The link is accurate as to style, but not color.)[break]Galaxy is really physically expressive, with lots of gestures and facial expressions. They move with a lot of energy and fidget when forced to sit still. Sometimes they skip when they're walking. They occasionally trip over their own feet, but can usually right themself before hitting the ground. They prefer standing to sitting if possible, and often shift their weight from side to side absent-mindedly. They wear a lot of brightly colored vests and skirts, a lot of which are patterned. If they're not wearing a vest, they're probably wearing a bad sweater (unironically). The only pants they ever wear are blue jeans, sometimes under a skirt. [break][break] HISTORY [break] Galaxy spent all of their childhood in an alternative, self-sustaining, off-the-grid commune deep in the Wyoming countryside with their extensive extended family (both legal and chosen). All the children were co-parented and homeschooled, so they had ten "siblings," of which they were the oldest. There was limited electricity, but no phone or internet service. Although a few people from nearby towns moved to the commune over the years, nobody who lived there ever left or had reason to.[break]That is, until Galaxy had an argument with their parents and tried to run away to prove they could live on their own. When they reached the nearest town, a place called Buffalo, they went into the local library and, after a few minutes of half-hearted browsing, broke down into sobs. A librarian asked them what was wrong, and they explained their situation. The librarian expressed sympathy, but was confused by Galaxy's mention of the commune, because she'd never heard of anything like it being near Buffalo at all.[break]In fact, nobody in the town had ever heard of it. It wasn't on any maps. It wasn't visible in satellite photographs. And, when Galaxy convinced a local to drive them back to the commune, it wasn't even there.[break]Galaxy didn't know what was going on, but they knew they needed to get out of Buffalo fast. [break][break] REASON FOR BEING AT DALTON COVE [break] Galaxy isn't too sure on the details, but sometime after they left Buffalo, they ended up in Dalton. It's not like they had anywhere else to go. [break][break] INTERESTING FACTS [break] Galaxy is their birth name. Yes, their parents looked at an infant and thought, "You know what's a reasonable name for this kid? Galaxy." Also, they were raised in a gender-neutral setting. They don't "get" gender (fricking hippies, right?), though they don't have any problems with using different pronouns to refer to people.[break]Their age is approximate, because hippies. They're at least 18, and they're legally 19, but they could be anywhere from 18 to 20. They're also not sure about their birthday, though it's legally 9/29.[break]They're a pescetarian; the commune didn't approve of hunting, but also couldn't grow enough of the right crops to support its population on veggies alone, so fishing was the compromise.[break]Galaxy can actually read really quickly, but they don't read much because they can't concentrate for long periods of time without getting antsy. [break][break] ANYTHING ELSE? [break] Galaxy has never actually been seen dying their hair... spooky. (Spoiler alert: they do it in the shower.)
