II. RULES
I. REGISTRATION
register with whatever name you want. we're not picky.
but once you've submitted your application, you should
go ahead & switch your display name to the name of the
character you're playing on that account. we just want
to make sure everyone knows who's who.
II. APPLYING
there's a list of specific application guidelines here,
but the basics are as follows: be considerate. make sure
you finish your application within 5 days of registering,
unless you've asked the admin for an extension. your
character has to be human or human-passable. if they
have powers of some kind, check the app guidelines.
III. RESPECT
be nice to other people. you don't have to be all
sunshine and rainbows, but we need you to treat your
fellow members with dignity and respect. there's
obviously going to be IC conflict. keep it IC. if you're
being a jerk and someone complains to the staff,
they will talk to you about it, and there will be
repercussions. use common sense, darlings.
IV. GRAPHICS
if you can, please represent your character with
a living playby. if you have to use art instead, that's
alright, but a chosen playby is preferred. by the way,
your application phrase is silver lining. any picture in
your signature can be up to 500x250 and no larger.
a stretchy forum is a sad forum.
V. ACTIVITY
life gets in the way of fun all the time! we get it.
still, we'd like you to try to keep up your activity as
long as you don't have a hiatus established. there
may be occasional activity checks. we're not really
all that strict -- but if you're gone without a reason
for a long time, you will probably be assumed inactive
and your account will be treated as such.
VI. ROLEPLAY
now that's what we're here for! this site is an
intermediate to advanced website, which doesn't
really mean anything besides that we'd like you to
write literate, spell-checked posts. it'd also mean
a lot to us if you tried to match or at least come
close to your RP partner's post length. you don't
need to write a novel or anything, but give us
something to work with.
note that there are two types of posts that you
can run here on Amphigory! you can have a para
thread OR an interaction thread. we prefer that
you run paragraph roleplays when possible, but
not all situations require multiple paragraphs.
please mark your threads as either para or
interaction in the title of the thead. thank you!
