IV. PLOT EVENTS
Here at Amphigory, the main plot moves on whether you want it to or not. While you obviously have quite a bit of room outside of it to do your thing and run your subplots, there will be designated plot events. This is how they'll work.
An event will typically be announced in advance, and will be accompanied by an event check-in thread. If you check in to the plot event, you will be expected to actively participate in the event through roleplay. While this is expected to be done in a timely manner -- it'd be a little rude to start responding to an event only after it ends -- we understand that things can be unpredictable, and your time frame is flexible enough.
Checking in for an event also means that you may be personally called to an event-specific thread. The check-in guidelines of an event will let you denote which sorts of occurrences your character could face, and how major the final effects of the event on them can be.
When the event actually occurs, a new category will be opened on the board for the duration of the event. Here, event-specific threads calling checked-in users and open event-specific threads will be posted by the admin(s) running the event. You can post new threads and interactions within this category to ensure they take place during the span of the event. However, you may also request that an admin enacts a plot event upon any existing thread, as long as both participants agree.
Active participation in events at Amphigory is not mandatory, however it's extremely encouraged. What is mandatory is that a plot event affects your character, regardless of whether said character had an active thread related to the event. These events affect all of Amphigory, and you're no exception. There's a reason it's a dynamic plot, after all.
If you have any questions, post an inquiry thread or contact an administrator.
